Computer Science Discoveries & Introduction to Technology

- Computer Science Discoveries is a year-long course designed for students in the 8th grade. Computer Science (CS) is an introductory computer science course that empowers students to create authentic artifacts and engage with computer science as a medium for creativity, communication, problem solving and fun. Students will use code.org and Schoology to complete daily classwork assignments. Students will go into detail with coding, how to build websites, creating a moving picture, building & creating a game, designing an app, etc.
- Digital Technology is designed for students in the 7th who want to master basic skills in the areas of word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications, multimedia presentations, and Internet research. Reading, mathematics, and communication skills are reinforced throughout this course. Students are required to take a safety test and must pass this test with a 100 before they will be allowed to login to a computer.
