Hi, my name is Keith Brown and I am proud to be the Assistant Principal here at McCalla Elementary!!!

 

Some facts about me:

- Born 1986 in Syracuse, NY where I grew up and wore snow pants for 18 years straight, and am a big fan of the Orange

- Attended Lipscomb University, where I met my wife Kaitlyn and began raising my first dog, George

- 2009 I began teaching and coaching at John Overton High School in Nashville, TN

- My son Frank was born in 2015 and decided to challenge George for some of our attention

- Moved to Hoover in 2016, where I began teaching at South Shades Crest Elementary

- Attended UAB to earn my Masters in Educational Leadership

- Adopted a pandemic dog and named him Guy ... he's a disaster and George is almost always annoyed with him

- 2021 I accepted the responsibility of assisting to open the brand new McCalla campus as Assistant Principal

 

There is nothing better than introducing something to a kid, and when the concept clicks, you see the confidence build ... I like to be the person there when the lightbulb turns on. That's why I'm in education. To build confidence in students, serve the community, and support my teachers.
